Welcome to Christy Schulte Photography! My name is Christy, and I’m a pet and family photographer serving Metro Detroit and Lansing.
Do you love your dog but struggle to get a quality photo? Are there mainly blurry photos of your dog on your phone? Do you even have any photos of you with your pet? I can capture beautiful images of your beloved pet(s) and create pieces that you can treasure for a lifetime.
Whether you are looking for portraits of just your dog or you want photos of your entire family, I would love the opportunity to work with you! To view samples of my work, please head to my Portfolio. To learn more about my dog-owning, cider and donut-loving self, check out the About Me page.
To help you during this “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order here in Michigan, I’ve put together some enrichment activities for your dog(s), you and your little ones if you have any. All activities are dog focused!
Regardless what you decide to do, please be sure to get fresh air with your pup. It will do you a world of good!
Enrichment Activities for Your Dog(s)
Dogminded, a dog trainer based in Boston, created this graphic with tips on how to enrich your dog’s day. They have even more ideas on their website!
In addition to the ideas above, I wanted to share a few more:
I personally know Stella’s mom, Kylie, so I had previously snapped a couple quick photos of Stella when she was an itty bitty puppy. Kyle saw how quickly Stella, an adorable Bernedoodle, was growing and booked a session with me to capture puppy photos at 17 weeks old. I love Linden Park in Birmingham, Mich., for photo sessions, as you can get photos in an open field, by a stone wall and on a trail. So much variety!
The McGillis family already had a Bernese Mountain Dog named Mia when they decided to add little Carlos to the mix. At the time of the session, Mia was not a fan of her new furry sibling and wanted nothing to do with his puppy antics. As such, we focused our attention on the adorable little pup that he was to capture his tiny, fluffy self in all his glory.
I then turned my attention to capturing some images of Mia, who did her best to move around the yard in the opposite direction of Carlos.
We then strategically took the family photo – placing the two dogs on opposite sides of the image. You would have no idea looking at these photos! I am happy to report that the two are great friends these days, especially as Carlos continues to outgrow his excited puppy tendencies.
